There should not be any such problem. You can see the theme demo in your Firefox browser: http://demo.gazpo.com/ Does it work fine? If it works fine, then try to change the slider image size. Have you tried to change or add any CSS? Let me know if it still doesn’t work.

It might be because of the CSS changed you made. Please try downloading the fresh copy of theme and install it. Also see if the http://demo.gazpo.com/ works fine in your firefox browser.

OK… now it lines up perfectly when my browser is at a certain size or resolution… however when I zoom out to have the text smaller the slider gets misplaced… not sure how this will affect other people looking at the site but for now it is fine.

Hey ! I have just fixed the error and uploaded the files again. So please download the theme again and install it. It should work fine. The error was occurring because your server does not allow short php tags.

you can add this line to the style.css file #content .entry p{margin-bottom:10px;} to have 10px space between paragraphs.

@Omar Willey.. The slider gets the description text using wordpress function get_the_content(), which returns the content without formatting. Since you don’t have your post starting with the text, it gets the tags. Simple solution is to add some text in the post before adding any media. Otherwise you need to make little changes in the includes/gazpo_slider.php file. You can find the solution to your problem here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/apply-filters-to-get_the_content

Okay, If I understood correctly, you want to keep the formatting of the post text in the homepage featured categories. In that case, you need to replace the code in the gazpo_feat_cats.php as you are doing already, but remove the strip_tags function, because it is stripping the html tags. So, the code should look like:

echo substr($content, 0, 150). ‘…’;
?>

You have to edit CSS file to change the font colors.

You can decrease the sidebar width and add more margin to the left, to have more space between content and sidebar.

While i know html, im not familiar yet with workings of WordPress or CSS.
In WP, you have pages, static ones that do not change (Home, about, etc) That is the one i am seeing. Not the dynamic one with slider and featured posts. If i go to tags or categories, the posts show as shown in the demo, it is just the main page that i cannot configure. If i delete the “Home” page, i get the 404 page, so im not sure wich page the theme is calling.
Maybe i am doing something wrong and im just missing a click in theme options, but cannot find where it goes.
Other than that, i love your theme, and i am trying to understand how it works so i can personalize it better

I updated the theme files, you can either download the theme again, or add following in your theme css file to have 15px bottom margin in the paragraphs.

Hey John.. I checked the theme on Nokia E7, and it works fine. I don’t have an iPad to test this, but i checked on ipadpeek.com and was being rendered correctly. However, if you have tested it and have problems, you can easily fix them with minor changes in CSS.

Perhaps you can try clearing floats below the header and subheader. Try to inspect which element is taking the space on the left of the content, you can easily see this by using FireFox extension Firebug. Once you have that extension in your FF, you can just right click in that area and inspect the element. Hope you can easily fix it.

Also. Pls is there a way the featured post slide could display posts from different categories and not just one. The featured area is only displaying image and post title, its not displaying except like I saw in the Demo

The part I say is not showing except is the featured area under the slider dat gives us acess to display post from three different categories. What do I do to make it show the except and also in the same featured area, it doest show d name of d category. Becos all dis things I see in d Demo.

There’s a widget to place ads in sidebar.

You can change the values in the the_post_thumbnail function which is located in includes/gazpo_loop.php file.

For that purpose you will need to edit the theme code and use the wp_nav_menu.

pls. i just checked your site. in d featured category, i saw a part with hot news, pls how did you do it that it shows in the featured area, but not in ur top menu. your reply would be really helpful

Hey Phil, Sorry for late reply, been busy. You can easily customize the theme. If you you want to change the header image, simply replace the “bg.png” image with yours. The image is located in the images folder. If you want to change the font colors, you need to edit the style.css file. If you have more questions, feel free to ask. Good luck.

You need to specify the id of each category separated by commas, you would like to show in menu. You can find the IDs of categories from your dashboard -> posts -> categories. Rollover the mouse on the categories found in the right panel and look for tag_ID in the in the browser status bar e.g. tag_ID = 8. You need to put that number.

Im using custom menus, I assigned a menu in admin and now it looks fine. Still have problems with the featured posts etc. Should I activate it so you can have a look?

Hey Pete, Did you mean that these appear in the description text on the slider image? It happens if the slider post does not have any text in the beginning. You need to edit the includes/gazpo_slider.php file. Look at line 33 starting from the “$content = get_the_content”.. There you need to make the change. For example you can try this:

$content = get_the_content();
$content = apply_filters(‘the_content’, $content);
$content = str_replace(‘]]>’, ‘]]>’, $content);
$content = strip_tags($content);
echo substr($content, 0, 150). ‘ ‘;

You will need to edit the includes/gazpo_feat_cats.php file and add another loop in each of the featured category to get the last three posts of each category.

When you extract the zip files, make sure that the gazpomag folder does not contain subfolder gazpomag, instead it should have the theme files.

What header arrow? You can change the header height in the style.css.

You can just edit the theme files for both things. For example, if you want to display ad instead of twitter, just look for twitter code in the header file and replace it with the ad code.

Its because slider uses absolute position. Why you need to zoom in/out the browser?

Hi, I have the same problem as Nik. The menu sub categories appear horizontally and not vertically. Great theme, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can easily do that by editing the line 8 of gazpo_loop.php file. Also check search.php and single.php files.

I agree. My solution was to upload a mobile theme (don’t activate it) and use the Mobile Theme Switcher plugin too dynamically display one or the other depending on what device users were using. You have o manually set up the mobile theme, but it works.

Shouldnt be because of WordPress update, just see if any plugin is breaking the code.

I checked it on chrome with multiple resolutions and didnt see such problem. What browser version/resolution you are trying?

You can set the menu from your dashboard and include whatveer you want to.

In WordPress’s menu configuration screen, you’ll have the option of adding either pages, or categories you have created to the menus you have created. Pick whichever you want, or you can have a mix of categories, pages, and custom links.

Thanks for using this theme. The Twitter has just changed their API couple of days ago, so probably the widget in this theme wont work. I’ll see if i get time to update that but it will take some time.

I just checked the theme and the slider does not have any problem with wordpress 3.5. Perhaps some of your plugin is creating the problem. You can test by disabling your plugins.

You need to create the category template, and there you can include the desc.

Interesting what you said about the thumbnails; ours never did do anything but move that item to the big slider window. They never linked to the article itself!

Open header.php file, there are a code block for the twitter, remove that. Make sure you don’t break any div.

Look all the way to the lower right on the page you write articles on. ‘set featured image’ is where you add the photo for the slider, it need not be one that’s in the posting.. Choose from your gallery or upload, pics around 300 x 300 work best.

That’s odd. My logo works fine even on post pages. What version of gazpoMag are you using? Did you set your logo on the gazpoMag options of placed it directly on the header?
