Amaranthine is a 2-column, clean and professional wordpress theme by gazpo.com. The Theme supports WordPress Custom Menu, Custom Header and Custom Background. Easily customizable with theme options. The theme supports threaded comments with gravatars. Doesn’t require any plugin. For WordPress 3.2 and above.

Options Panel:

The Option Panel offers following Features:

Add social links to appear in the header of the them
- Twitter
- Facebook
- Custom RSS Feeds (eg. Feedburner)
- Contact Page
Add Custom logo
Add Favicon
Enable or disable content slider
Specifiy slider category
Add custom CSS styles
Add tracking code in the Footer (eg. Google Analytics).

How to use Slider:

Open the editor of the post where you want to display the featured image and locate the ‘Featured Image’ module in the bottom right corner under Page Attributes. Click ‘Set featured image’.

You will see an uploading screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to choose the image from your computer and upload it or choose it from one of the images already in your Media Library. Once the image has successfully been uploaded, look underneath the sizing options, and click Use as featured image.

Don’t forget to click Update on your post/page to save your changes. Your featured image is now set!

This theme is released under GNU General Public License, Version 3. Feel free to modify it and use it for all of your projects.

I will appreciate if you can keep the credit link to my website, but of course its not a requirement.

If i don’t set a featured image, post thumbnail doesn’t show, any solution?

The theme uses the_post_thumbnail function to display the thumbnails, this function requires the featured image. You might want to try replacing this with wp_get_attachment_image function.

Zohair, I think if you want to display the post thumbnail, the best way would be to use featured image, otherwise you would need to make some custom function to get the post thumb.

Actually i am not very good with php, my blog have lots of posts and the previous theme had the timthumb feature, i guess need to use some thumbnail script now :/

I understand. Do you have an image in all of your previous posts? You can use this function, it gets the first image from the post. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_children#Show_the_first_image_associated_with_the_post

The theme has Custom Menu Support, but sadly you can only add 1 menu i.e. header menu. Any plans on adding a main menu type navigation?

This theme has only one menu, but if you want to add another, its pretty easy. For example look in the header file, and copy the menu code where you want it, also you’d need to register the menu in the functions.php file.

Here’s what you need to do.

Open functions.php, go to line 116. There’s function register_nav_menus, replace that function with following:

register_nav_menus(
array(
‘header_menu’ => ‘Header Menu’,
‘footer_menu’ => ‘Footer Menu’
)
);

Open header.php go to line 74, replace
wp_nav_menu( array(‘sort_column’ => ‘menu_order’, ‘menu’ => ‘header_menu’) );

with following:
wp_nav_menu( array(‘menu’ => ‘Header Menu’ ));

Now, where you want do display second menu, open that file (for example footer.php) and add:
wp_nav_menu( array(‘menu’ => ‘Footer Menu’ ));

Thats all you need to change in the theme.

Now you go to wordpress admin area -> Appearance -> Themes-> Menus. You can see ‘Your theme supports 2 menus.’
Create menus there and save.

I have tested by myself, and it works fine. Make sure that you are creating two different menus in the wordpress admin area and assigning them correctly.

May be then my DB has been corrupted, anyway i have emailed you about the comments form issue too? any idea how to translate it? as i guess this theme uses core file for comments? like Name, Email, Website

That’s really strange. Can you create two menus in the theme menus? Do you see different menu items there? Are you giving different menu names there? Are you using latest wordpress version?

I’ve seen your email, regarding the comments translation, the theme uses default wordpress wp_list_comments function. You can easily callback your own comments template for translation or whatever changes you want. ♥ Finally resolved the menus issue, if anyone else having same problem , find this code in your functions.php file

function register_my_menus() {
register_nav_menus( array(
‘header_menu’ => __( ‘Header Navigation’, ‘gazpo’ ),

add_action( ‘init’, ‘register_my_menus’ );

♥ Now replace this with

add_action( ‘init’, ‘register_my_menus’ );

function register_my_menus() {
register_nav_menus(

‘primary-menu’ => __( ‘Primary Menu’ ),
‘secondary-menu’ => __( ‘Secondary Menu’ ),

)
);
}

♥ Now go to your header.php and find

‘menu_order’, ‘menu’ => ‘header_menu’) ); ?>

♥ Replace this with

‘primary-menu’ ) ); ?>

♥ To add second menu anywhere with same formatting paste this

‘primary-menu’ ) ); ?>

♥ Go to WordPress Menus and Make menus as you wish :D

Sami, i am facing a problem, that Pagnition at search results page is not working properly, lets say if i press page number 2 on search results page it takes me to the page number 2 of my blog :/

If there’s problem, you can replace the pagination function. You can search for any wordpress pagination function.

Sami, don’t know what’s wrong, just checked that while searching if one moves to page 2 or any other next page, it makes the search term to ?s=Wordpressplugin from ?s=Wordpress+plugin, means removes the + (space) from the query.

Hey could anyone help me?
I’ve got the slider thing and a floating menu going on. The problem is that when the floating menu overlaps with the slider , the slider seems to be on a higher index making the floating menu unclickable but i want the menu to override the slider instead but simply changing the z-indexes of these elements did not help. Any idea?

Did you check the z-index value of the slider ? Set the z-index value of the menu bit higher than that. Also check the silverorchid theme which has similar code, there you can see the z-index values for slider and menu.

Are you setting the post featured images? Try installing the theme by removing all the plugins etc.
